fantastic accommodation with unbeatable setting close enough to beautiful shops and izakaya's selling marine products directly from ships registered in the harbor. very spacious bed in the double room, plus a writing table and fast working wifi.

Good price and location close to JR Hakodate Station, just 5 minutes walk. Room is small but clean and has all you need. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Hotel has vending machines for drinks and there are convenience stores close by.

I really liked staying in the twin room at APA Hotel Hakodate Ekimae. It had a cozy vibe and the air conditioning kept me cool during hot summer days. The electric kettle was a nice touch, making it convenient for me to enjoy a hot cup of tea in the mornings. It felt like my own little sanctuary in the city.
The only thing I didn't quite enjoy was the bathroom with a shower/tub combination. It's just a personal preference, though.
